Good Smile Company has announced the English version of Grand Summoners which will soon be hitting the App and Play Stores. According to the “Pre-Order” site on iTunes, the game is slated to launch February 7.
If you’re new to Kongbakpao and haven’t heard about Grand Summoners, the game was touted to be the successor of Brave Frontier back in 2016 as Hisatoshi Hayakashi, who started-up Aidis (developer for Grand Summoners), was the producer for Brave Frontier and was also involved in the development of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
This news actually took me by surprise as not many Japanese publishers have published their games directly for global. The ones that do are usually the bigger name publishers who already made it big globally such as Bandai Namco or Square Enix.
Although the game only did mediocre in Japan, I hope that it will do well globally so that more Japan publishers are willing to come out of their comfort zone and publish their awesome titles world-wide.
