Here is the list you have been waiting! Kongbakpao’s top 10 English mobile games for 2018!
Note: Unlike the Japanese list, there will be a ranking for this list and it’s according to my bias!
10 – Grand Summoners
Grand Summoners is a turn-based tap battle RPG. Although the game is played very similar to Brave Frontier, it has its own unique features and gameplay mechanics. The best thing about the game is that it is published by the same publisher for the Japanese version thus Players can expect the same amount of generosity in terms of free gems and items!
9 – Azur Lane
Before you guys flame me for ranking Azur Lane at 9, be glad that I even put it on the top 10 list! Just kidding. Azur Lane is a navel battle, side-scrolling shooter game set in the World War II era. This Waifu game drew a lot of attention when the it was first launched in China and Japan. However, I like my Waifus “tall” instead of “bite size” thus Azur Lane is ranked at 9.
8 – Sword Art Online Integral Factor
Sword Art Online: Integral Factor is a full-fledged mobile MMORPG. Based on the original SAO arc, Players take up the role of one of the ten thousand Players who were originally trapped in the world of Aincrad. Your goal is to beat all 100 floors of Aincrad and escape the clutches of Akihiko Kayaba (Heathcliff). The cool thing about the game is that you get to fight alongside the main characters instead of playing as them.
7 – PUBG Mobile
2018 is undeniably the year of the Battle Royale genre. While there are 141039812098 other Battle Royale games out in the market, I prefer the more “realistic” PUBG graphics compared to the “fantasy style” Fornite. Time to get my Chicken Dinner!
6 – Identity V
Identity V is a 1vs4 survival escape game played very similar to Dead by Daylight. In each game, there will be 4 Survivors and 1 Hunter. The objective of the survivors is to unlock the main gates and escape the play area while the Hunter’s role is to hunt the Survivors (duhz). Each character (both survivor and hunter) has their own unique abilities that can help them escape or hunt better. What I like about the game is that the developers are constantly churning out new characters to keep the game fresh.
5 – Chaos Masters
Chaos Masters was previously a MOBA game on PC. The mobile version of Chaos Masters is a traditional turn-based RPG played very similar to most Korea Monster Breeding game. The game is easy pick up and require some form of strategic thinking in PVP battles. I actually played the game for quite some time until I was gone for a short holiday and couldn’t keep up in the Arena any more.
4 –Â Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon: Memoria Freese
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon: Memoria Freese (DanMachi) is a side-scroller turn-based RPG with a little Dungeon Exploration mechanics. The game does a good job in summarizing what the Light Novel series is about. The publisher was really generous, giving out tons of gems frequently, something not common for a westernized Jmobile game. However, there were too few characters in the game and most of the new gacha characters are just the same ones with different costumes and skillset.
3 – Food Fantasy
Probably having one of the most Female Player-base in the Gacha games genre. Yes, there were more female viewers watching my Food Fantasy YouTube videos than Males! Food Fantasy is a side-scroller RPG cum Restaurant management game. The main objective of the game is to hunt ingredients and use them in your restaurant. The game was really great when it first launched. As the days past, most of the new events introduced became too “expensive” for me to play competitively. However, if you’re a casual F2P person, I strongly recommend giving the game a try.
2 – Dragalia Lost
Hands down, the best music, the best story telling and the best one-touch Action RPG in the market right now. This is one of the rare games I played with my sound on and also not pressing the Skip button during story telling. However, like all ARPGs out there, the game becomes a little repetitive and grindy especially when you can’t Auto during Co-op. I would have ranked Dragalia Lost first if not for the “stupid” Gacha system where it’s a mix of characters, dragons and wyrmprints.
1 – Epic Seven
Waifus – Check
Awesome Graphics – Check
Flashy Skill Animations – Check
Definitely my number one English mobile game for 2018. Epic Seven is a 2D side-scroller turn-based RPG with impressive Anime-ish graphics and skill cutscenes. The game is churning out new characters every other week, something not common in your typical KMobile game. There are also tons of events happening weekly, another thing not commonly found in your typical KMobile game. If you’re looking for a beautiful and competitive mobile game, I strongly recommend all of you to download and play the game!
That’s it for my 2018 list. There are tons of new AAA titles expected to launch in 2019. Remember to check back here often or Like my Facebook Page and subscribe to my YouTube Channel for the latest mobile games news!
