Netmarble has announced the launch for the global of Seven Deadly Sins. Players who are interested in the game can now download it from your local Google Play or Apple App Store.
The mobile version of The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is a Hero Collection RPG based on the famous manga series, The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai). The game was first released in Japan and Korea in 2019.
Similar to the original Manga, the game tells the story of The Seven Deadly Sins by combining in-game cinematic and anime footage. Players who have not read the Manga or watch the Anime will be able to learn the story by just playing the game. Based on what I’ve played, the in-game story is just a slight condense version of the Anime series thus you will not miss out on any important plots.
The combat system for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is turn-based with a mix of some tactical CCG type gameplay. Players will form a party of 3 characters each with their own unique skill-sets. Different versions of each character will also have different skillset.
During combat, Players will need to decide your character’s action by choosing their respective skill cards. You can also combine 2 of the same skill cards to create a more powerful version of the skill. However, manually combining your skill card will use up 1 “action point” thus it is important for you to plan your moves before attacking your enemies.
What I like about gacha games are the pre-roll animations which gives you a clue on whether you get to pull a rainbow character or not. While summoning, I realised that there are many different variations of the pre-roll animation in 7DS. Without spoiling too much, I have recorded what I feel is the most complete pre-roll animation that will 100% contain at least one SSR character.
There are several ways to develop your characters to become more powerful. Some of these methods are easy and straight forward while others may require a little bit of farming. The most basic way to improve your character is through leveling. You can increase their level by participating in battles or feeding them EXP potions. Next, you can “Evolve” them to the next tier rarity which will increase their maximum level and stats. There is also the Star level which you can improve through “Awakening”. The last option is by equipping your characters with powerful equipment.
Another highlight of the game is the town exploration system which is a little similar to most Mobile MMORPG. You can move around in town, interact with different NPCs and pick up quest. There are also hidden items in the town where you’ll need to search through every corner to find them.
Graphically, the game looks really good especially when it’s telling the story with the in-game cutscene. I’ve been playing the game on BlueStacks for a few hours now and it is still running smooth without any crashes. Players who had been playing the Japanese version have mentioned that the game do require a little grinding at late-game thus having the option to play the game on your PC can help to save your mobile’s battery life. Also, since the game does not require any complex movement or button smashing, you can easily play the game with just a mouse-click.
Besides the story mode, there are many other game interesting game modes such as coop, PVP and the future Guild Raids. Without spoiling too much, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is definitely one of the “Must try” titles in 2020.
