Negative Positive Angler, an upcoming anime about a young man who meets new and intriguing folks and finds simple pleasure through fishing, will be released sometime in October this year.
Catching A New Anime
The story follows Tsunehiro Sasaki, a university student who is depressed and in debt, and only has two years left to live. One day, as he is running from the debt collectors, he falls into the sea. A girl by the name of Hana, and a boy called Takaaki, rescue him.
Tsunehiro soon falls in love with Hana, and she recommends he try to learn to fish. He begins to fish, and Takaaki later becomes his fishing companion. The pair go out on expeditions and help teach each other. The anime focuses on themes of heartfelt friendship, making new connections, trying new things, love, and growth.
Despite hating the smell of raw fish, Tsunehiro soon falls in love with his newfound hobby. He begins to make new meaningful memories and finds purpose in his life again. At this time, he also starts working part-time at a local convenience store with Hana and Takaaki, where his connection between the two grows even more.
Let The Trailer Reel You In
The teaser trailer for Negative Positive Angler highlights the Tokyo Bay coast, where much of the anime takes place. It also features Tsunehiro starting his fishing journey, along with glimpses of other characters we will meet later.
Yutaka Uemura will direct the Negative Positive Angler at Studio NUT. Hiromi Taniguchi is the chief animation director, as well as character designer. Tomohiro Suzuki composes the series, and Tomoki Kikuya creates the music.
As for the three main characters: Mutsuki Iwanaka will voice Tsunehiro Sasaki, Fairouz Ai will voice Hana Ayukawa, and Kaito Ishikawa will voice Takaaki Tsutsujimori.
