Recently, HoYoverse has replaced many Honkai Star Rail Voice Actors without giving any reason. They have also changed the voice actors both in-game and on the official website, yet an official statement has not yet been provided.
Mystery Replacements
The most recent change involves Huohuo, a playable character who, despite her fear of Heliobi and Demons, constantly faces tasks to capture them and eradicate spirits. Huohuo used to have Courtney Lin as her voice actor. However, Megan Shipman now voices her.
Fans have noticed that on Courtney Lin’s official X account, she still refers to herself as the Huohuo voice actor. Some fans speculate that she either did not know they would replace her or that it was unexpected. Or, that the changes are only temporary. Even though a new voice actor has already re-recorded Huohuo’s lines in the Honkai Star Rail game.
Recently, two other characters have also had a change in voice actors. Argenti, a five-star playable character, and Mr. Tail, an NPC, had the same voice actor – Adam Michael Gold. Talon Warburton now voices Argenti, while Aaron Veach voices Mr. Tail.
Adam Michael Gold made a post on his official X account expressing his gratitude for the role, and that he is doing well. He also explains that he loves the community, and makes one last reference to Mr. Tail.
Honkai Star Rail has fifty playable characters in the game, so fans can only assume that this isn’t the end of voice actor replacements. Although no one has made an official statement, people can only wonder why replacements have occurred and what this means for other characters and their voice actors.
