Shikai is the main power source of Shinigami players. It’s a series of elite powers with unique attributes, passives, rarities and roll chance. In this Hollow Era Shikai Tier List, I rank each one including tier placement reasons.

Hollow Era Shikai Tier List
Let’s get into the rankings!
S-TIER
- Ryuujin Jakka
- Legendary 1% obtainment chance.
- This powerful Shikai has fiery, powerful abilities that tackle enemies from long and close-range. Alongside this, it has a burn passive, dealing additional damage to enemies over time.
- Ice
- Rare 10% obtainment chance.
- Despite being a lesser rarity, this Shikai hosts a diverse range of attacks, most of which apply the frozen status effect to enemies, preventing them from moving for a few seconds.
A-TIER
- Senbonzakura
- Rare 10% obtainment chance.
- Alongside M1s gaining a unique visual when used, this Shikai adapts well to combat. Focuses on keeping enemies away from the player, protecting them from attacks whilst pummeling them with attacks.
B-TIER
- Benihime
- Uncommon 29% obtainment chance.
- This Shikai has basic attacks, but handles enemies well when wielded by a capable player. It focuses primarily on slashing attacks, with an additional trapping move that detonates on enemies.
- Blocks gain a unique design.
C-TIER
- Zangetsu
- Common 60% obtainment chance.
- Very basic attacks. It’s nothing special but it’s better than having no Shikai at all.
D-TIER
- Nothing to see here!
What Each Tier Means
This section helps define each tier into its requirements for Shikai placement.
- S: The best in Hollow Era! These Shikai abilities stunt combat versatility, capable of dealing with enemies from close and long-range. They’re powerful and have additional enhancements!
- A: Great alternatives to the S-Tier Shikai abilities if you’re not keen on rerolling.
- B: Nestled into the average tier, these sit on the line of not great, not bad.
- C: Weak, but not the worst. That said, you can safely reroll these…
- D: These incredibly weak Shikai abilities aren’t worth keeping around. I recommend rerolling them as soon as possible.
