Forwardworks has announced the launch of their latest mobile game, Arc the Lad R. Players who are interested in the game can now download it from Japan’s App or Play Store.
Arc The Lad R is a sequel to the original Arc The Lad series. The story begins 10 years after the events in Arc The Lad 2 with a brand new character “Halter”.
Arc the Lad R is a tactical RPG played similar to Fire Emblem Heroes. Players can move around the field board and attack enemies from the back to deal more damage.
The really cool feature for the game is the way it tells its story. Unlike most mobile games in the market which uses just dialogue box and maybe the still images of characters to tell the story, Arc the Lad R actually tells its story through cutscene. This mode of story telling is more engaging and although you are unable to skip them, there is a higher chance for you to actually want to know more about the lore.
Controls for the game are pretty easy and straight forward. The tutorial can be a little long (bad for reroll) but it does a good job teaching you how to play the game.
As for characters, you can get those from the previous serious including Arc the Lad 1 and 2 (not sure about 3). There are also new characters from this mobile series to collect.
Rerolling may take some time since we cannot skip cutscene and the opening gameplay is slightly long. So good luck getting your favourite character!
