Another light novel will soon receive a manga adaptation. Bungo Stray Dogs The Untold Origins of the Detective Agency Manga is due to release on March 4th, 2025.
The Untold Origins novel reveals how the Armed Detective Agency was formed. It takes place 12 years before the current timeline and explores the meeting of Ranpo Edogawa and Yukichi Fukuzawa. Even though season 4 shows this. The novel also goes into more detail on Oda’s past as a young assassin.
Light Novel Manga Adaptations
This isn’t the first light novel that has become a manga. On January 24th, 2025, the first chapter of Bungo Stray Dogs: Storm Bringer was released, which is the 8th light novel in the series. The story takes place one year after Chūya Nakahara joined the Port Mafia and has a scheduled monthly release. The next chapter has a planned release of February 26th, 2025.
Alongside Storm Bringer and The Untold Origins, the manga adaptation of Bungo Stray Dogs Another Story: Yukito Ayatsuji vs. Natsuhiko Kyōgoku has also released as a manga. This is a spinoff novel from the main series and the fourth novel. The 9th light novel, Bungo Stray Dogs Beast, also has its full manga adaptation. It’s safe to assume that the other light novels that have not yet become manga will do so at some point in the future.
With so much Bungo Stray Dogs content, it can be hard to keep track of everything. The manga covering the main storyline releases monthly. With the latest chapter released on February 3rd, 2025. The current story and plot has divided many fans. So adapting the beloved light novels could help keep the fanbase engaged.
