Nochi Studios, a female-founded and run indie development team has announced their latest Kickstarter for their fantasy romance otome, Moondusk Masquerade.
The Kickstarter campaign will last until April 11th, and funding will contribute to the finalisation and release of this game in its highest quality. Nochi Studios is recognisable for their previously released stunning 2D lore-heavy otomes, Stellifier (iOS and Steam), and Somnium Elven (Steam).
Alongside Moondusk Masquerade, this small team are also working behind the scenes on Love Cult, which had a crowd-funding end this February just passed with its goal massively surpassed, reaching 127% funding! Despite handling so much between two games in early development, Nochi Studios reassures backers of the Moondusk Masquerade campaign with the following message:
“To give some context, we have been developing Moondusk Masquerade since the summer of 2024 and have about 30% of the development completed. However, we need a bit more financial help on this Cinderella x Bridgerton crossed title to afford the remaining game assets that are needed to bring the game across the finish line to launch around August 2025.”
As for schedule concerns, Nochi Studio said, “We’re confident that we’ll be able to release on schedule even with Love Cult in development as our track record is extremely strong. In fact, we’ve accurately scoped our past 6 Kickstarter-backed games.”
Moondusk Masquerade – Cinderella x Bridgerton
This regal fantasy title puts players in the shoes of a humble young woman named Lilika (renameable MC), who is ever indebted to faeries which had previously saved her lowly life. In exchange for hospitality, Lilika repays gratitude through tireless service. She cooks, cleans, and handles all the monotonous chores deemed beneath the fae.
Upon receiving a surprise invite to the annual Masquerade ball, Lilika immediately has her spirits crushed by the cruel family who don’t support her presence at the party. Lilika, in rebel spirits, and with the help of a magical flower, attends the Masquerade in stunning disguise, hiding her true human heritage.
With dreams of dancing amongst powerful high-court faeries and beautiful strangers, Lilika stumbles into relations with a prince, magician, and knight. The game follows Lilika as she reimagines her day-to-day and navigates feelings towards these three handsome men. Who she chooses is down to the player, with several routes to explore and secrets to uncover.
