Com2uS to Work With Creators of Walking Dead for Summoners War Animation

Com2uS most popular mobile game “Summoners War” is ready to expand its global IP. They will be working with Robert Kirkman (as depicted on the right) , an author of the Walking Dead series in Hollywood, to create comics, animations, and expand the IP to various other fields.

Com2uS has signed a business contract to expand the IP of Summoners War: Sky Arena (hereinafter referred to as “Summoners War”) with Skybound Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as “Skybound”), a global multi-platform entertainment company, in an attempt to expand Summoners War IP.

The contract between Com2uS and Skybound has been introduced through a video performance by Robert Kirkman at the “Summoners War World Arena Championship 2017” which was held at the MS Theater in Los Angeles on the 25th.

Com2uS will be creating a variety of content, such as comics and animations, based on the worldview and background story of Summoners War by collaborating with the Skybound founded by Robert Kirkman who created the Walking Dead series, which started a global trend in the US cable TV drama by reaching No. 1 in ratings.

Through this multi-dimensional IP expansion, Com2uS plans to enrich the worldview of Summoners War to boost and strengthen its global competitiveness. The project will be led by Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, a co-founder and CEO of the Skybound, and Catherine Winder, the CEO of Skybound North and creator of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Angry Birds Movie.

The creators mentioned that “Summoners War developers have created a fantastic world full of rich characters and various storytelling opportunities,” and said that they’re honoured to be a part of this project to expand the universe of Summoners War, which is loved by users of all ages worldwide, so that the game can be developed into various types of content.

Summoners War has reached international success and the collaboration with Skybound creators is expected to create a continuous positive impact on the global market. Summoners War was released in 2014 and has accumulated over 80 million downloads worldwide and about USD$1 billion revenue.
