Have you ever wanted to listen to music inspired by your favorite anime character? Well, now you can. Crunchyroll creates playlists based on different character tropes in a new collaboration with Spotify, called Curated By Crunchyroll, which is now available.

Anime Character-Inspired Playlists

Curated By Crunchyroll brings anime fans different playlists based on popular and iconic character archetypes from anime. The songs in each playlist are meant to remind you of your favorite characters.

Spotify and Crunchyroll will regularly update the playlists, and possibly make more with different trope inspirations. However, these are the current ones available:

  • The Broody Black-Haired MC – With a tragic and sad backstory, this character’s stoic and blunt demeanor can come across as rude. But deep down, all they need is some love and a friend.
  • The Bubbly Pink-Haired BFF – The friend everyone needs. They are always there to support, encourage, and cheer you on.
  • The OP White-Haired Sensei – Although they seem relaxed, unbothered, and cool – hidden beneath them is a complex and mysterious character.
  • The Journey Begins – You are the main character in this story. Everything is in your hands as you begin your adventure.

Spotify Anime Hub

Crunchyroll is also getting a shelf on the official global Anime Hub on Spotify. This hub features a variety of playlists based on different genres of anime, show soundtracks, and playlists dedicated to specific animes. Some of them include My Hero Academia, One Piece, The Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and more.

If playlists aren’t enough, Crunchyroll has an official podcast on Spotify called ‘Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect’. This is also available on the Anime Hub and features regular episodes with anime-loving celebrities.

To listen, visit the official Spotify website. Speaking of music, have you ever imagined a world where it is banned? Our news piece that covers the upcoming rhythm game, Keylocker, takes place in such a world.
