Dino Topia is a sandbox prehistoric park builder, and a demo is now available on PC thanks to the game being a part of the recent Steam Next Fest.
In the game you are tasked with venturing into an ancient land filled with jungles and deserts. But you’re not alone, oh no.
As the name would suggest, there’s a lot of dinosaurs here – and the majority will help you to create a place you can call home.
Dino-mite?
The gameplay combines strategy, RPG, and adventure elements into an intoxicating brew.
You explore a range of environments where there’s a range of creatures and dinosaurs to collect, but there are also boss battles and the chance to upgrade your homebase. There’s a lot to do, basically.
In terms of the game’s inspirations for the game’s design, the XA Studio Directors says “gor us, we looked to when we were growing up and the creativity brought upon by dinosaurs being a part of it! That influence has carried into our adult lives as game developers, giving us the perfect backdrop to create Dino Topia.”
Anything else?
Yes, quite a lot more actually. There’s a huge amount here to enjoy if you’re a fan of dinosaurs, with the chance to hatch all new dinos by combining the best elements of your creatures together.
You can also explore dungeons with your scaly companions to gain new materials and encounter even more dinosaurs. Some are friendlier than others of course.
