Did Fear And Hunger 2 Dev Accidentally Reveal A New Monster?

0

A Fear And Hunger 2: Termina update is coming. This much we know. Developer Miro Haverinen, also known as Happy Paintings, has continued to shower players with free content updates since the sequel to the brutal RPG Maker title released in 2022. We know precious little about what to expect in the upcoming update. We have come across something interest, though. An eagle-eyed fan on Twitter found something lurking at the edge of one of the latest screenshots that makes us think that some new monsters might be headed to Termina.

Hidden In The Fog

The image first appeared on July 27th, when the Happy Paintings Twitter account posted some screenshots in #screenshotsaturday, a weekly hashtag for developers to share their progress. It shows Levi stood in some foggy Prehevil streets in-game, with the caption ‘new old places’, implying it’s Fear And Hunger 2 update content. Already interesting, but it gets way better.

Eagle-eyed viewers might catch a strange figure just on the edge of the mists. Observant Twitter user @KurearNote pointed this out, only to receive a highly suspicious reply from the developer:

“oh yeah, my recording program just glitches out at times and there’re some ghost images from previous screenshots/footage. I assure you it’s nothing.”

Sure Miro, sure.

Zoom And Enhance

We’ve done our own tinkering with the image to try and get a better look at the sprite. You can view it below. It looks like some hideous creature with a deformed head, and either sutures on its body, or a coat made of skin. Maybe Stitches has been up to her old tricks again?

Enhanced image for our Fear And Hunger 2 update news. It shows a cropped screenshot with heightened contrast to show a monster in the mist.

Whatever it is we’re sure it will be horrible and will traumatize us both by its gameplay implications and its lore ones. Mushroom-headed abominations that creep around disused playgrounds usually aren’t there to assist with anything.
