With the release of Season Pass 4, Guilty Gear Strive has a surprising new character. Lots of exciting stuff is due as seen in the latest trailer from IGN. The highlight, at least for me, is that Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners is going to be playable.
The Arrival of Lucy in Guilty Gear Strive
While Season Pass 4 has been available to purchase since July 22, Lucy isn’t coming to the game until Summer next year. 3 characters are coming before her: Dizzy from Guilty Gear X (October 2024), Venom (first quarter of 2025), and a brand-new face, Unika (Spring 2025).
Lucy is admittedly a strange choice for Guilty Gear Strive. I don’t typically connect Cyberpunk Edgerunners with GG whenever I load up the game. However, it’s a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
When to Expect New Footage
She’s one of my favourite characters from the Edgerunners series, so it’s pretty cool that she’s a playable character. I’m looking forward to seeing what her moves and cutscenes look like!
As of right now, there isn’t any footage of how Lucy plays in the game. With her release not due until Summer next year, I don’t think we can expect to see updates any time soon.
We may get some drip marketing here and there though. As soon as more news becomes available, you can count on us to report on it.
What Does ‘Guest Character’ Mean?
When seeing the phrase ‘guest character’ used in her announcement, I had a quick thought that she might only be available for a limited amount of time. I now realise that it simply means she’s a character from a separate franchise, phew.
I’d hate for her to be part of the game to only be taken out eventually. Let me play as my grumpy netrunner!
If you’re here, you’re probably an anime fan just like us. We have a recent piece on the Delicious in Concert event to celebrate the announcement of the Dungeon Meshi concert in 2025.
