Japanese cell phone provider NTT Docomo recently released a warning to users via Twitter about the deformity. It’s called “smartphone pinky,” and is the result of using your little finger to support the weight of your phone. When you hold a heavy smartphone in your hand, it rests and presses on the inside of your end pinky joint, a susceptible spot for pain to develop. Doing so too often may lead to the development of an “indentation between the first and second joints of your pinky,”
