How To Do A Self Pass In Vision

If you want to do a self-pass, start running and position your camera lower down, but pointing up. This is crucial, as this will determine the direction of the ball and where it will go. Once you’re happy with the angle, press T to kick the ball up into the air. When it starts coming down, jump so the ball hits your feet. This will bring it back to the floor, and you can start running (or dribbling) with it again.

With any technique, practice makes perfect, so don’t worry if you don’t get it straight away! The most important thing to remember is to angle your camera and press T, as this gets the ball into the air and away from other players. Jumping up to meet it isn’t a win-or-lose-all situation, but it does ensure a smooth transaction from kicking the ball to it landing again.

Why Is It Important?

Self-passing is an important technique to perfect as it gets you out of tricky situations where lots of players are after you. For example, imagine you’re dribbling the ball, or trying to run down the pitch with it, and there are players on either side of you waiting to tackle. Performing a self-pass will kick the ball up and over them, letting you run past and meet the ball once it comes back down, so you can start running with it and avoid those who were trying to get it off you.
