The Hunter x Hunter manga hiatus has officially ended. After 22 months without a new manga chapter, Yoshihiro Togashi is back. Not only this but there is also a fixed release date for when you can expect to read Volume 38.

When Is The Hunter X Hunter Manga Coming Back?

Hunter x Hunter went on hiatus because of Togashi’s health, as he is known to struggle with back problems that prevent him from having a regular work schedule. After a year and a half of no new chapters, the manga is now coming back, picking up from where it left off.

The Hunter x Hunter manga currently has 37 volumes. Despite not having a cover yet, Volume 38 has a release date of September 4th, 2024. After the Shueisha Comic Official S-MANGA website released the pre-order for the new manga, fans were happy to see the release date already set, as well as the number of pages it will have.

Volume 37 will have 208 pages and will follow on from the Succession Contest arc, where the voyage toward the New Continent continues. This arc follows many of the same characters from the anime but focuses on Kurapika, The Zodiacs, Ging, and The Phantom Troupe. The arc also introduces characters that are not in the anime adaption, such as Prince Tserriednich and Beyond.

The 2011 anime adaptation ends in the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc, however, the manga continues into the Dark Continent Arc, followed by the Succession Contest Arc. If you want to pick up straight from where the anime left off, you can begin at chapter 339 of the manga.

Togashi, the creator, posts daily teasers and snippets of the upcoming chapters on his official account. Physical copies of the manga will be available in stores upon release, whereas digital copies will be available on the Shonen Jump Manga website and app.
