How To Get Black Flash
Before you can use Black Flash, you need to buy the Focus Awaken Node from the Focus Skill Tree. With this node, you will unlock 3 focus bars and be able to perform Black Flash. Each skill in the skill tree can also be upgraded up to 3 times, which increases your buffs depending on the upgrade (more on that later!).
Once you have purchased the Focus Awaken Node, you can use Black Flash! You must fill up one of your focus bars (above your health bar) to use it. To fill it up, simply damage other players or enemies you come across.
After it has filled up, right-click to make a diamond appear on your screen. If you don’t see a diamond, that means it hasn’t filled up properly! Then, press R to perform a heavy attack.
If you successfully perform a Black Flash, you will obtain Black Flash Tokens, which you can view at the top of your Focus Meter. You can consume these to perform a Maximum Technique whilst using specific Innate Techniques. Luckily, you don’t need these tokens to perform Black Flash.
Focus Buffs
As you make your way through the Focus Skill Tree, you will unlock Focus Buffs that make your Black Flash stronger.
- Focus Increase 1
- Improves the damage output from your Black Flash by +1/+2/+3
- Focus Increase 2
- Improves the damage output from your Black Flash by +1/+2/+3
- Focus Increase 3
- Improves the damage output from your Black Flash by +1/+2/+3
- Focus Increase 4
- Improves the damage output from your Black Flash by +1/+2/+3
- Focus Token 1
- Gain an extra focus bar (now 4 total)
- Focus Token 2
- Gain an extra focus bar (now 5 total)
Black Flash Buffs

- Black Flash Proficiency 1
- Black Flash damage increases by 103%/106%/110%
- Black Flash Proficiency 2
- Black Flash damage increases by 113%/116%/120%
- Black Flash Proficiency 3
- Black Flash damage increases by 123%/126%/130%
- Vampiric Black Flash 1
- Every time you perform a Black Flash, heal 1% HP
- Vampiric Black Flash 2
- Every time you perform a Black Flash, heal 1.3%/1.6%/2% HP
- Vampiric Black Flash 3
- Every time you perform a Black Flash, heal 2.3%/2.6%/3% HP
Passive Abilities
Alongside obtaining buffs, you will also unlock passive abilities when making your way through the Focus Skill Tree.
- Total Concentration
- Enter a state of total concentration after landing a Black Flash. When in this, your cooldowns are 10% shorter and your damage is buffed by 5%
- Lock In
- Gain a .25 focus increase
- The Sparks of Black
- Use three new types of Black Flash:
- M2+Space – Throw your enemy in the air then slam them to the ground
- M2+E – Teleport to where your opponent is and disable the Reverse Curse Technique for 20 seconds
- M2+R – Confiscates an opponent’s Cursed Technique for 2 seconds
