Nexon has announced the soft launch of their latest mobile game, Maple Story M. The game is currently available to Players from Australia, Canada, Indonesia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. From what I’ve read, it will be available to other regions in the near future.
I remember playing the game 2 years ago when it was first released in Korea. MapleStory M is full fledged mobile MMO where Players will be able to venture alongside friends in the familiar world of Victoria Island. The game’s UI is optimized for mobile gameplay. Basically, this is a mobile port which stays true to the original Maple Story PC MMO.
At launch, Players will be able to select the following classes; Dark Knight, Bow Master, Night Lord, Bishop and Corsair. Currently, servers are split into Asia and North America so make sure you choose the region if you’re playing with your friends!
Now for the bad news. The game is region locked, which means you cannot play the game if you’re not from the above 5 countries, even if you’ve managed to download it through APK sites or overseas iTunes account. I’m not quite sure if they have made any changes to the game over the past 2 years but from what I’ve remembered, if you’re a hardcore Maple Story fan, this is probably the best mobile port of the game thus far. You should definitely give this a go.
