After a decade in the making, the My Hero Academia manga will officially end with its final chapter on August 5th, 2024.

Finale Confirmed

The official My Hero Academia X account made a post on the 24th of June, 2024, explaining that the manga will be ending soon, and only has a few more chapters left. The manga has been in progress for a decade, so the news that it is coming to an end will be sure to leave fans upset.

Unfortunately, this also means bad news for anime watchers of the franchise. Currently, there are seven seasons in total of the anime. The first episode aired on April 6th, 2016, nearly two years after the manga published its first chapter.  Like most franchises, the manga usually continues from the anime, as it takes longer to animate and release episodes.

However, with the manga now reaching its close, this implies that the anime will finish sooner rather than later too… well, relatively. The studio released the latest episode of My Hero Academia on June 22nd, 2024. This episode corresponds to chapter 351 of the manga, so the animators still need to animate about 80 more chapters.

Quirky Characters

My Hero Academia follows a boy called Izuku Midoriya, whose dream is to become a superhero. In this Shonen anime, people possess superpowers called Quirks. Midoriya joins a hero academy to begin his adventure in learning how to become a hero, and how to use his powers.

You can read the manga on the official Shonen Jump website and app. The three most recent chapters are free to read. However, you’ll need a paid subscription to read the others.

Although this manga is nearly over, for one franchise, it is beginning again. If you’re a Hunter x Hunter fan, you’re in luck. Take a look at our post covering the New Hunter x Hunter Manga that will be released later this year.
