A new Black Butler Emerald Witch Arc Trailer has released! The studio uploaded the first teaser trailer in the summer of 2024. The latest trailer, which came out on the 4th March, 2025, is the first animated look fans get of both Sieglinde Sullivan and Wolfram Gelzer.
First Looks At Main Characters And Wolfsschlucht
Although the teaser trailer doesn’t show much of what is to come, fans do get a better look at both Ciel and Sebastian. Those who have been a fan of Black Butler for a few years (looking at myself), may notice the change in art style. The more smooth and rounded art first appeared in 2024 in the Public School Art. It’s different from the sharper, more gothic art style featured in the early seasons and movie.

Spoilers aside, the Black Butler Emerald Witch Arc Trailer does a great job at showcasing Wolfsschlucht, the village most of the arc takes place in. Fans can also hear a snippet of Sullivan’s and Wolfram’s Japanese voice acting.
Towards the end of the trailer, we can see Ciel without his eyepatch. Showing the detailed contract mark which binds him and Sebastian. Whenever this comes off, it’s clear something serious is about to happen.
The Importance Of The Emerald Witch Arc
Those who have read the Emerald Witch manga arc are familiar with the iconic scenes that happen between Ciel and Sebastian. As well as how important this arc is to the storyline as a whole.
Earlier this year, the studio announced that the official release date would be at the end of March. The expected release is for April, 2025. Making it almost one year since the Public School Arc came out.
Fans, including me, can only hope that manga arcs will be animated more regularly. Especially now that the manga is coming up to one year on hiatus, there is a lack of new content coming out.
