Gathering all Square Enix fanboys! Here are some of the upcoming games that was announced in yesterday’s Nintendo Direct 2022. These are games that I am looking forward to play on my Nintendo Switch.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion

I’ve mentioned this back in June, Crisis Core will get brand new remake which features a complete HD graphics overhaul, newly arranged soundtrack, and an updated combat system.

If you’re new to the Final Fantasy VII series, Crisis Core begins seven years before the events of Final Fantasy VII and follows Zack Fair, a young Shinra SOLDIER operative. As his adventure unfolds, he discovers the dark secrets of Shinra’s experiments and the monsters they create.

The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox series X|S this 13 December 2022.

Octopath Traveler II

Personally, I am not a big fan of the series but I know some of you are.

Octopath Traveler is a HD-2D JRPG with old-school turn-based combat. It tells the story of 8 different travelers each with their own origins, motivations, and unique skills. Some people thrill to glamorous stars of the stage and industry, while others are brought to tears by war, plague, and poverty. In this new series, Players will be able to journey along 8 new travelers and learn more about their origins.

The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) in February 2023.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line

Rhythmic fans rejoice as we are getting a new rhythmic game expanded from the original Theatrhythm Final Fantasy game. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is packed with 385 music tracks from across the whole FINAL FANTASY series, while the Digital Deluxe and Premium Digital Deluxe Editions include music from various SQUARE ENIX series, such as NieR series, SaGa series, LIVE A LIVE, OCTOPATH TRAVELER and more.

Put together the party of your dreams with 100+ characters to choose from. In addition, two players locally can complete stages in Pair Style, while up to four players can battle to the beat in Online Multi Battle!

With additional DLC content to explore following the game’s launch, players have plenty to look forward to as they embark on a colorful and musical journey this winter. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line launches February 16 2023 on Nintendo Switch and PS4.

Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered

It was revealed during the livestream that Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, PC (Steam) and mobile on 1 December 2022. The fourth entry in the beloved SaGa series, “Romancing SaGa” was originally released in Japan in 1992, and again as a remake in 2005 across North America and Japan.  Players across North America, Japan and Europe can now experience additional new features and QOL updates with a new HD graphical re-master in Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered.

Harvestella

This is a new and interesting game that I am curious to find out more since I’ve learned of its existence back in June. In HARVESTELLA, players will experience a beautiful world that changes with the flow of the seasons and enjoy a variety of gameplay including tending to crops, befriending townspeople and adventuring into challenging dungeons. It sounds to me that the game is like a combination of Harvest Moon and Final Fantasy.

A free downloadable demo for Harvestella is now available on Nintendo Switch.
