Bandai decided to switch up the roster and add their One Piece Odyssey Deluxe Edition to the Nintendo eStore today. This 3D RPG transports players into the world of One Piece as they follow the Strawhats through a shipwreck leaving them stranded on an island within the New World. The game pays homage to the main series with various references to arcs and characters up to Dressrosa.
This nostalgic entry into the One Piece verse was released as a commemorative for the 25th anniversary of the anime premiere. And, after a successful initial launch, began to cast its nets across other consoles.
Stacking Bounties and Bountiful Loot!
The One Piece Odyssey Deluxe Edition on Switch includes a bountiful loot pack with two in-game accessories and the iconic Sniper King outfit. On top of this, players enjoy the pre-order bonus content featuring the pre-time skip Strawhats outfits amongst in-game food items, and the eventual Adventure Expansion Pack (Reunion of Memories) DLC along with 100,000 Berry.
As an honourary Strawhat in this single-player game, you’ll be able to choose between various pirates to play throughout the story, including the beloved protagonist Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, Roronoa Zoro, Vinsmoke Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Robin and Nami.
Similar to other releases of this title, the game only supports Japanese full audio. Luckily, the interface and subtitles are dubbed across 15 languages. A decision which has mixed reviews since it hinders the immersive experience of the playthrough. However, avid fans of One Piece who watch the subbed anime highly rate the game for its performance and story.
Unusually, the Deluxe Edition is the only entry to the Nintendo eStore as of today. However, the cost of the Nintendo release fetches the same price as the default One Piece Odyssey game on PC. As of today, the One Piece Odyssey Deluxe Edition costs £49.99 (~$65) on the Nintendo eStore. Compared to the PC release which costs £49.99 (~$65) for the default release, and £69.99 (~$90) for the Deluxe Edition.
