One Piece TCG Starter Decks Guide

Each Starter Deck consists of the key components to get started. Inside will be a complete deck of 51 cards which break down into 10 Don!! Cards, 1 Super Rare Leader Card (Red card back), 2 Super Rare cards, and Commons.

What Each Card Means

In total, there are 5 card types which your Starter Deck will include:

  • Leader – The behind of this card is always red. Your Leader card is your main target of your opponent. Each Leader sets the colour pre-set for your team based on their front card colour.
  • Character Cards – The playable cards to defend and attack which each have a unique cost and traits to aid in strategising your play.
  • Event Cards – Allow for unique effects to happen during your turns such as the ability to look at your next 5 card pulls from your deck and selecting one to add to hand.
  • Stage Cards – A scenery card which typically buffs characters during their turn with a sense of familiarity to the rest of the playing deck. For example: The Thousand Sunny Stage Card buffs up to 1 Straw Hat card or Leader Card by +1000 for its turn.
  • Don!! Card – Energy allowance per turn. All cards have a Don!! cost to play them and their effects.

Where To Get Started

If you’re new to a TCG, it can be overwhelming to learn something entirely foreign (I’ve been there). Luckily, there is an Official Comprehensive Online Rules Guide detailing set-up, each card’s meaning, how to take turns and more. Or for something less full-body, try out this nifty Official YouTube video.
