The PUBG MOBILE STAR CHALLENGE (PMSC) Global Finals were held in Dubai this year from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1. After a ferocious fight, Thailand-based team RRQ Athena has been crowned champion.
As the first international event for PUBG MOBILE, PMSC had players all over the world clamoring to compete since its registration opened back in August. After three months of preliminary competitions, the top 20 teams from Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Japan/South Korea/China finally met at the global finals for a battle to end all battles. RRQ Athena proved their abilities from the Asia Finals to the Global Finals, dominating their competition every step of the way.
RRQ Athena’s outstanding performance in the PMSC Asia Finals earned the attention of both the media and other players. At the beginning of the Asia Finals, RRQ Athena won the only villa upgrade bonus in the open match. In interviews behind the scenes, the other teams each stated that they considered RRQ Athena their toughest competition. In the end, RRQ Athena won the Asia Finals with 3,365 points. In the Global Finals, they won the championship with 95 kills and 5,510 points.
PMSC, the first ever international event for PUBG MOBILE, provided a formal stage for PUBG MOBILE enthusiasts around the world. Every team in the tournament proved their strength as they trained and battled in this unique opportunity for esports players everywhere, transforming them from mere players into full-blown competitors.
In preparation for PMSC, RRQ Athena adopted a rigorous training program, practicing every day and studying their opponents by watching other teams’ match reviews on social media. When asked if any team member had thought about giving up, they all said no. RRQ Athena’s team members believe in facing their mistakes in matches and adjusting their strategies accordingly, growing and learning from the experience. This tenacious attitude allowed them the confidence and skills to win the championship.
“Thanks to PUBG MOBILE for providing an international stage for countless game lovers,” said the team leader of RRQ Athena. “For the coming year, we are fully prepared to meet more challenges and competitions, and we will put forth our best efforts to achieve winning scores.”
As evidenced by RRQ Athena’s victory, to become champions, PUBG MOBILE enthusiasts must test their limits with discipline, training, and the passion to succeed.
