Type Soul Ghoulossus Guide
The new ghastly boss, Ghoulossus has a rather unique spawn condition. But before I get into that, you’ll need to get your hands on a Ghastly Core. This new item added in the Halloween Update has a chance to drop from gripped Ghost mobs.
Ghosts spawn in each area (KT, Hueco Mundo, Soul Society and Wanden) in the Hollow hotspots. Where Hollows tend to spawn, there’s a slim chance that a Ghost will replace it. The drop rate for the Ghastly Core isn’t favourable, but thankfully Ghosts aren’t too hard to defeat.
They primarily fight using the Hakuda and Speed combat trees, and when they fall, you’ll need to grip them to finalise their perish. Alongside the sought-after Ghastly Core, they may drop Ectoplasm which converts into points to use in the new Halloween Event store via the Mysterious Witch NPC.
Where To Spawn Ghoulossus and Defeating Him
With the Ghastly Core on hand, head to Karakura Town and find the boxed field on the right side of the map. Chances are, a ton of players will be congregated around here waiting for someone to spawn Ghoulossus. So, if you spot others, you’re probably in the right place.
Fret not, because if you attempt to use the Ghastly Core in the wrong area it’ll display an on-screen message to say the item cannot be used here, and it’ll return to your inventory.
Once spawned, Ghoulossus stunts a variety of moves with his most tedious being orb projectiles. The best way to deal with him and inflict damage is to take a step back and parry the orbs he blasts around. Also, there’s strength in numbers, so don’t be put off if you see numerous players in the spawning area before summoning him.

The two main drops from Ghoulossus currently take the top spots for the best Accessories in the game. Though, with a title like that, they also suffer very slim drop rates. Good luck grinding!
